Monash University is soon to implement an online OHS hazard and incident reporting system the first module in the Safety And Risk Analysis Hub or SARAH. The user-friendly and intuitive system will replace the current paper based process and will provide supervisors and managers with live and accurate information on events reported in their areas while reducing the time and effort required to investigate and action reported hazards and incidents. Info sessions: 10 July 11-12 & 1-2 pm.
Other benefits include:
· The ability to attach images and documents· The ability to print hard copy records
· Anyone with an Authcate number can access the system (including students)
· All relevant stakeholders will be notified of an incident or hazard immediately after a report is made
· A comprehensive reporting tools for supervisors and managers
· Escalation of responsibility if required actions are not completed within prescribed time frames
This is an exciting innovation driven by OHS and I’m pleased to announce that the system is due for implementation across the faculty during the month of July.
While navigating the system has been deemed relatively self intuitive for the wider staff population, those who manage or supervise staff and safety personnel have added functionality and responsibility for actioning hazards and incidents reported by those under their direction.
The OH&S unit are therefore conducting a series of information sessions to inform supervisors, managers and safety personnel of their obligations. Two information sessions will be conducted at the Alfred site in Seminar Room 1 (Level 5 of the Alfred Centre) on Thursday 10 July from 11am-12pm and then repeated from 1-2pm. Although not mandatory attendance is strongly encouraged.
Should you have any questions regarding the new reporting system please contact our OHS Advisor David Hurst on 990-x50506 or OHS Special Projects Coordinator, Sharon Barnes on 990-x53873.
