Social media is now an important part of how everyone interacts; and this is no different in research.  Social media has been successfully used by researchers to coordinate multicentred studies, recruit participants, connect with collaborators, improve dissemination and increase citations.  This seminar will explore the valuable opportunities for public health professionals, researchers and clinicians to network, foster innovation and grow new ideas using social media.

More staff news: Gavin Horrigan wins shooting contest

 Gavin Horrigan (wearing the blue sash in the photo) braved the wet weather on Saturday 3 May 2014 to compete again at the monthly shoot of the Ararat Clay Target Club. Shooting in fairly heavy rain he was one of only two shooters to achieve 49/50. After a 25 point shoot-off he managed to secure an overall win for the event and first place in AA Grade with a final score of 72/75. Gavin won a 211 piece tool kit and another sash to add to the growing collection!

Flutracking is about to kick off again for 2014! All responses confirmed that 2013 was a mild flu year. Please help the collection of data:

Flutracking would really like to recruit another 1,000 people to help track influenza around Australia. They currently have 16,000 Flutrackers. It entails 10 seconds per week to help us track flu and receive a weekly flu report and flu map. Find out more at:
