Photo of the week: 2014 EMCR@AMREP conference
Infectious Diseases PhD student, Janet Gare, presenting at the 17 Sept Early-Mid Career Researcher conference, on how HIV-1 subtype C continues to dominate the HIV epidemic in Papua New Guinea. The conference was a success with 32 poster presentations and 24 oral presentations, attended by about 160 people. Adam Bandt (Greens MP) and Lindy Burns (Radio 774 ABC Evenings presenter) were guest speakers. See more:

AMREP EMCR Collaborative seed grant applications due 24 October 2014
Apply for an AMREP Collaborative Seed Grant to facilitate a collaboration
between you and another early or mid-career researcher (EMCR) from a different institution within the AMREP. Applications will be accepted from all fields of research, and grant funds may be used for any purpose that facilitates
research collaboration. Two awards of up to $4000 will be awarded; comprising $2000 from each of the participating institutions.
- Grant applications are due by 24 October 2014.

It features recent publications, recent prizes and awards, a farewell to Damien Saulep-Easton in his work role to take up a role at Melbourne University, though he continues with his PhD under Fabienne Mackay's supervision.
